Maximising my time

I was on msn. Someone told me to maximise my time here. I decided. I should. Why not?
It makes perfect sense to say that but I guess I was lost somewhere along the way. All thanks to some idiots who stir things up. Doesn't it all happen to us at some moment in time? Why the hell am I on exchange? To experience something new isn't it? But I am so reliant on the Singaporeans here as well. That sucks. Having 2 other singaporeans in the same stage as me doesn't help, neither does having another 2 exchange students from sg who are also doing chem eng. Why the hell are so many sg pple doing this course?

Anyway, what are the things that I should be doing to maximise my time???
Dye my hair? Cut my hair? I have already done those.
Wat else? Salsa? Been there done that.
Travel? Not when I am not feeling damn bloody rich.
Club? Pub? Drink? Argh...that sucks.
Eating? haha $$. twice a week out sounds really luxorious doesnt it? (well, then again, in sg probably not but using the currency here, u gotta really think twice. yes! and think about this...
Do u live to eat or eat to live? See my point?)
Well.. what else? any suggestions?

In the meantime I shall do something which I really enjoy. Sleep. Nite.

Arriving at Newcastle

So how was it since I arrived in Newcastle?
"Well, not too bad." That's my standard reply. So how are you? I seriously hate this question, pple here can ask u how are u early in the morning, when you get off from classes, when you first met them, when u accidentally bump into them or even as a greeting. I mean how can I tell you how am I when I don't even know how I am. I know this is a simple question that does not requires any real answer as to how you really are but nope! I hate this. It is so disturbing to me coz I have to think about how I really am before answering. I think a simple "Hi" without the "how are you?" is so much more friendlier coz then we can go on to other topic without saying how exactly you are. Ok, enough of this crap.

So Newcastle. Studying here is really slack. I wonder if the students do study. I came here to experience a different educational system but I would say it is pretty much the same. Lecturers go on and on and the students take notes and the whole class is quiet. Isn't it the same? But then again, the professors here are on much friendlier terms with us than back there. Oh! and I really appreciate my coordinator who happens to be a chem eng prof. Thank you for taking care of me here thus far! :D

And so...I have been to Edinburgh, Sunderland, York, Liverpool, Manchester, and...more to come :P Sterling pounds is really heavy. The exchange rate can kill. A bit more than a month here and I have stopped converting. Makes my life happier and also that means I tend to spend more! haha. A 5 pounds meal is so fine to me now but convert back, it is $15! Imagine spending that amount on every single meal....So, I still scrimp when I can. Haha!

The Days prior leaving for Newcastle

Going to Newcastle for exchange for half a year. I was not looking forward to it then, I guess my family made me appreciate their presence more in the recent days, and I guess I would miss having them around, though I know they will definitely be there when I need them .

Meeting up with friends just because you are going to leave for half a year is such a good excuse to make pple come out from their holes. I like the day when I managed to bake cookies with Michelle & Yanhan, managed to meet Kenny and then followed by Yinshuo. At least the day and night was filled to the max and I was at my crankiest.

I also appreciated the day with Eeling, Caiqun and Jiayan. So typical of us to meet at Bedok hawker to makan and talk for like 4 hrs!?!????????!!! I guess friendship will still last even though we do not talk to each other as often as before, isn't it , 10? I feel good chatting to you guys at that moment.

And thanks guys for sending me off! Angel and Terrence, Cat, Cyn, Lay, Hel, Tee, Silk, JJ, Qx, Ys. :) Thanks loh! It was quite a mad rush coz I tried my best to look good while leaving in front of you guys but I actually got to the wrong gate inside. Mistook 56 for 59. How lousy can I get... Super paiseh lah. And thanks papa, mama, karen, jojo and second uncle for sending me off too!

Decided to carry on blogging

I thought I shouldn't blog on, I am still not the type to blog. Feels exposed blogging. But then again, I thought I should share what life here's like, so here I am! :)

So I am now in Newcastle, the one in UK. Would be on exchange here till mid-june. Just past a month since I arrived and seriously, I don't miss home. I was actually being popped this qns :" Don't you ever miss home? " And I did thought over it seriously and the answer was no. It seems like I am pretty unfilial.

So, I guess I shld talk about what had happened so far isn't it? Wait. This is going to take quite a long time. But first, happy CNY, happy V-day and happy whatever tt has just passed.
